Pioneer Valley Fiberglass Pool & Spas - First Rate Pools and Installation
It all began on a hot July day in 2004. Clancy Kaye and his team showed up bright and early and began the excavation. By mid-day the hole was dug and the pool had arrived on the flatbed truck. His guys even assisted the female driver who was having a bit of trouble maneuvering the trailer into position so they could lift the pool off the truck.
The pool was dropped into the hole and then Clancy began his ritual. You see, to Clancy, getting the pool level is not just a process, it is a passion. He spent countless time and (&) energy moving from side to side, front to back in search of the perfectly level pool. If the pool is not level, believe me, you'll notice. Clancy takes this as a point of pride, so be patient. It will all work out.
By the end of the day the pool was in the ground and back-filled and the water was brought up to level. My daughter couldn't wait any longer, and insisted on wading in the pool despite the fact that the pool was not fully (filly) treated with the proper chemicals. Hey, it can't be much worse than swimming in the local reservoir can it? Clancy assured us, she would be fine and away she went.
The second day we focused on the grounds, landscaping and getting the equipment hooked up. Despite the fact that I was putting in my own patio around the pool instead of going with the standard concrete apron, Clancy and his team were truly spectacular in helping me get the apron properly leveled and prepped fin my custom patio. Clancy also assisted me in pouring a concrete apron to rest the equipment on, and then did all the piping and fitting of the components in just a couple of hours. The results were fabulous as you can see above, and we could not be happier with our new San Juan pool. Clancy even showed up later in the 611 to help me rim through the winterizing process for the first time. Now that's dedicated service! A very, very happy customer,
Dear Mr. Kaye
My family and I would like to personally thank you for the superior customer service and quality pool and equipment your company provided to us.
During the initial stages of our research into different brands of pools and installers it quickly became apparent to us that Pioneer Valley Pools was a step above the competition. The experienced guidance and knowledge of the whole installation process made us feel very comfortable with our decision of pool type and location within our yard. Our selection of a Hawaiian model pool allowed us to maximize the usable space in our yard. The clear description of excavation needs made for a very smooth day when the pool arrived on a trailer and was set in place. Your dedication to quality was clearly obvious on that cold day when the pool was set, leveled, and simultaneously filled with water and backfilled with sand.
The next decisions of what type of filter and chlorine system were also comfortably made when all of our questions were clearly answered. Our choice of a Goldline Chlorine generator has proven to be an excellent system. Many of our friends and guests have been impressed with the quality of a San Juan fiberglass pool. It is a very nice feeling to be reassured by others that our pool system and installation is top notch.
I look forward to future business with Pioneer Valley Pools should we decide to expand on our current system.

Dear Mr. Kaye
We couldn't be more pleased with our fiberglass swimming pool from San Juan Pools. It is like an island oasis in our own backyard. Maintenance of the pool and filtration system have (has) been minimal and easy.
Clarence and his team did a great job installing the pool and made the process easy from start to finish.
We would recommend Pioneer Valley Pools to anyone in the market for a fiberglass pool.

Dear, Mr Kay,
My husband and I had Pioneer Valley Fiberglass Pools install our fiberglass pool last year, and everyone who sees it comments on how beautiful it is.
We included decorative tiles on the upper edges, as well as brick trim all the way around the top, and it is really an exceptionally attractive pool. One of the main attributes of this particular pool is that we will never have to replace a liner, as it does not have any liner.
Our experience with Pioneer Valley Fiberglass Pools, and with Clancy and Frank in particular, is that they were exceptionally accommodating and did follow up quickly with any problems or concerns that we had. For instance, when we needed to have the cement work around the pool perfected, Clancy and Frank made sure they attended to our needs quickly and without hesitation.
There was never any problem if we were not totally satisfied with their sub-contractor's work: Clancy and Frank made sure that they were l00% behind their product, and they provided back-up staff to bring all aspects of our pool up to the level we expected.
Even though we lived quite some distance away from Pioneer Valley's home office, we found that the people who were responsible for its pools were attentive to our every need. We would highly recommend Clancy and Frank, its "main men," who ultimately provided us with a beautiful pool which has added immeasurable equity to our home and our yard. Our pool is gorgeous, especially now that we have landscaped it.

Dear, Mr Kay,
We purchased a full installation package with lots of features from Pioneer Valley Fiberglass Pools & Spas a few years ago. We are very pleased with our San Juan Mandalay Bay fiberglass pool / spa combo. We are glad we went with fiberglass over vinyl. Ours was a very unique application with a number of customized and automated designs requested.
Pioneer Valley accommodated us at each piece of the project and are still there for follow up support and service. If I had to do it over again I would do the same with Pioneer Valley Fiberglass Pools & Spas. Thanks!

Dear, Mr Kay,
Here is our testimonial.
We are extremely satisfied with our "Pacific Pool" from San Juan Pools and Spas.
From the start of construction to the finishing touches, Clarence and his crew worked very hard to make sure that everything would turn out picture perfect.
The fiberglass pool is amazingly easy to maintain and does not require as many chemicals to keep the water crystal clear.
This has been a great investment for us; we look forward to coming home after a tiring day at work to relax by the pool. We feel that we have our own little piece of heaven where we can truly relax and forget the stress of the day. Anytime we entertain friends and family they say they feel like they took a mini vacation while poolside.
In addition to being very happy that we purchased the pool, it has been our pleasure to come to know Clarence. We consider him to be a very reputable contractor and a man of his word. He has always been available whenever we had questions or concerns and always willing to go the extra step to keep his clients happy. It is comforting to know that we can call Clarence and trust that he is there for us.
We would definitely recommend anyone considering a pool purchase, to Take the Plunge and call Clarence. We are happy we did.

Dear, Mr Kay,
I know that this letter has been a LONG time coming (it's been just over 3 years since you installed our “backyard oasis”), but I wanted to finally share and reemphasize the wonderful experience that my family has had with you and Pioneer Valley Pools.
“Anxiety” was the one and only feeling that came to mind when my wife first uttered the words “ Hey, why don't we put a pool in the backyard? ”… As a child, I grew up with a pool in my backyard and could remember the countless hours my family would spend in the pool, but as an adult, the only things running through my mind were how expensive it would be (i.e. cost), how difficult it would be finding a pool company that I could trust to do a good job (i.e. quality) and, finally, how much work it would be to maintain (i.e. customer service). Based on our continued experience with your company, I can safely say that your company more than addressed each of my concerns (and then some!).
Cost… Let's face it, a pool is a big investment for most families… When we started our search for a pool, we took our time to research available options (e.g. liner-based, gunite, fiberglass) as well as pool vendors. While we were obviously looking to find the best possible price, we understood that it also didn't make sense to cut corners – we not only wanted to be swimming in our pool for the next few years, but years (and hopefully decades…) to come. For us, the pool construction option was a no-brainer… My own parents “did battle” with an in-ground, liner pool for years – by the time they sold their first home during my teen years, the liner resembled a patch-work quilt and had faded from blue to something bordering on gray. In their new home, my father opted for something that was relatively new to the Vermont market at the time – a one-piece, fiberglass pool. That was some 20 years ago and that same pool is in fine working condition today! With the being the case, it was fiberglass for us, thank you!!! We then reached out to several fiberglass pool companies in the MA/CT area and were shocked by how competitively Pioneer Valley priced their San Juan fiberglass units – it turned out that fiberglass wasn't really that much more than a traditional pool (less all the headaches). With a price that attractive, I assumed that something had to be missing from the equation, but I (re)read every part of the Pioneer proposal and grilled the salesperson to the point that he suggested that the owner make a personal visit to reassure me that it was a good price and a complete package. It's not often that I contract with folks to do work around my house and feel comfortable about it, but that was exactly how I felt as we brought your company onboard…
Quality… So we get the call just a few weeks later with our scheduled installation date, which I assume to mean the “first date” of a multi-day installation. Boy was I wrong… The excavation crew showed up promptly at 6:30AM on a Thursday and had the hole dug, shaped with a sand bed and ready to receive our pool by 12PM. Like clockwork, the pool showed up on the back of an 18-wheeler right on time and by 1PM, the excavator was lifting the pool off the truck and into the hole. When I think back to the experience, it continues to amaze me! The amount of work that your crew completed with the degree of precision that they did was simply mind-boggling – in a matter of just 6-7 hours we had a 14x32 foot pool sitting where my backyard once was! To make a very short story even shorter, my 10-year old son was begging me to swim in our new pool by 3PM that same afternoon (to which I obviously obliged!!!) and the grounds were cleaned and the Pioneer trucks heading home by 5PM. The entire job was completed without a hitch IN JUST ONE DAY and 3-years later we continue to open/close the pool without a single issue. Remarkable!
Customer Satisfaction… In my mind, customer service and satisfaction is what sets many companies apart. There are a lot of companies out there that will “sell” you a pool – believe me, I talked to many of them beforehand… But which of those companies is going to guide you through the process, advice you on different options (i.e. lighting, heating, chemical automation, etc.) and be just a phone call away when/if you do run into an issue? I can't speak for the rest, but I can for Pioneer Valley! We swim in our pool from April through October (some 2-3 months more than friends of our with pools) because Pioneer guided us through the many heating options available (and helped us choose the one that is the most energy and cost efficient!). I don't deal with the hassle (or expense) of chlorinating my pool because Pioneer Valley presented a state-of-the art chlorine-generation option that runs on (get this…) table salt!!! Sure, it cost me a few extra bucks to install, but with the money I'm saving in chlorine, I'll break even on the system in only a few years. And last but not least, Pioneer Valley has been there on the few occasions when I did need a hand. They willingly came out to help guide me through the pool closing process our first year and did all of the heavy-lifting involved with installing our winter pool cover. And just this last month, while I was vacationing out of state, Clarence himself came out and replaced a warranted component in our chlorine generator. Had he not done so as quickly as he did, my family would have come home from vacation to a pool full of algae! Instead, the first thing we did following our 10-hour drive home was hop in our suits and take a dip in the same crystal-clear water we've become accustomed to. Pioneer Valley doesn't HAVE to do any of these things – they value their customers as long-term relationships and seem to do it because it's the right thing to do and they WANT to!!!
Again Clarence, my sincere apologies for not writing your earlier (as promised). Feel free to share this letter and our experiences with any of you prospective customers. My hope is that it will make them feel as much at ease with their decision as we did with ours (and continue to every time my wife and I are sitting in the pool enjoying time with my family).
Many thanks and best regards!

Pioneer Valley Fiberglass Pool made a wonderful, outdoor extension of our existing patio with a small San Juan pool/spa. It was the perfect addition to our home. It is large enough for a swim but small enough to keep warm throughout the spring and fall too. It is a pool that makes sense in the colder climate of New England. Our small pool has really enhanced the value of our home.
Working with the owner of the company, Clarence Kaye, was a pleasure. There were no hidden costs. What our contract said was the price, was the price. He really heard what we wanted in a pool and didn't try to sell us more pool than we wanted. He was sensitive to our unique site needs too. In addition, he was considerate to our subcontractors, who were doing some stone work and fencing. He answered all of our e-mails promptly and with care. He still answers any owner questions with professional expertise and friendly helpfulness. I wish all businesses were run like PVFP.
